Compositional Trick #3 Macro

The next technique I learned was how to use the macro function on the digital camera. The macro button looks like a flower and it is meant to zoom in on one tiny little area, and blur out the rest of the background. For the macro photos we had to take two, one focusing only on depth and feel, and the other mainly on texture. The object I choose first was for texture. I saw this old mattress in the back of the drama room and I knew instantly that it was going to be my texture.

The second picture was for depth and feel and I decided to take a shot of a water fountain with myself reflecting off of the nozzle in the corner.
